Becoming Aware: The First Step to EVERYTHING; Part 1

YOU ARE AWESOME! You have gifts, beauty, and you’re female! Those four things in general are pretty awesome.

I know it may sound silly, but I believe that every young woman is beautiful in their own way. It’s cheesy and slightly overused, but I still stand by it; beauty is in the heart.

I know so many girls who are beautiful inside and out. They have their own style, a confident manner of speaking, and they always wear a smile. Their individuality is something wanted by many girls.

Your gifts and talents are very important to make you feel proud about yourself. Talents don’t necessarily involve sports, academics, or artsy things. They also involve things like being a leader, being kind hearted, understanding, curious, influential, detail oriented, and yes… Confident!

You must become aware of your gifts and beauty. Once you know that you’re good at something, hold onto it, and grow in it as much as possible. Do the things you love; be the person that you were meant to be!

I know this was a shorter post, but you may notice the “Part 1” in the title. I did this so that I wouldn’t have one super long post, but that I would have two medium sized posts.

Introduction

In this world, we girls have always had problems with feeling confident in ourselves. Ever since ancient times, the female world has always looked at the bad in themselves. Whether it’s physical (like freckles, red hair, large thighs, small chest, and big feet), or in our brains (like thinking you’re annoying, loud, too shy, or not good enough for a boy) we will always have something that we think is wrong with us. I’m beginning this blog to build confidence in young women like myself.

Now that all the intense stuff has been said, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Rachel! I’m a 16 years old girl who has grown up in a Christian home. I can say with confidence that I would not be who I am today without God. I love to dance, and I love to act.

Some things you should know about me:

~I don’t really fit in to a specific crowd. Sometimes I wish I do though. I have friends all over. A lot of people don’t understand this, but I think it’s great.

~I tend to speak my mind. Please do not be offended by anything that I post on this blog! This blog is all about building people up, so please join me in doing this.

~I was bullied when I was younger. In elementary school, a large group of kids would constantly torment me about my weight and how I had no friends. Now I have to say that I understand why they did it; I didn’t know how to hold my tongue, and I got into trouble because I took things the wrong way. That experience has showed me that I need to relax and be myself.

~I like to stand up for what I believe in. You may hear a story about this later.

~I have two sisters, Tiffany and Joy. Tiffany is married and has three children. Joy is mentally disabled; she is an amazing person who spreads joy to many people.

~I have two nephews and a niece. Their names are Michael, Emily, and Samuel: and they are so incredibly precious.

~I am FAR from perfect. Far far far.

I hope that you will join me in this journey of confidence. I hope to help young women like myself grow into being happier with themselves, even if it’s just a tiny bit.
